We’re in Minnesota! I think if pressed, Nora would cop to being a Minnesota girl. She’s lived in many places in her life, but a large part of it has been spent here in the Twin Cities. Both her children were born here. A bunch of her dad’s family lives here. Safe to say it’s got that home draw for her. (Sweetheart, if I’m way off on this, please refrain from calling me out in front of the readers. 🙂 )
One member of that family living here in the cold, cold north is her cousin, who just happens to be getting hitched tomorrow. So here we are, getting ready for the big, semi-formal shindig. Nora’s sis and BIL have been kind enough to put us up for the three nights and shuttle us to and from the event and airport. We got in last night, chatted for a bit, then went to bed. Even with the time zone change I beat everyone up this morning…what to do?
I’ve no car here. I can’t hop in the driver’s seat, head to the nearest SuperAmerica, and get copious amounts of soda. I can’t go to my former favorite hangout here, Saint Paul Bagelry. Can’t even get to a McDonalds to drink their soda.
Luckily, there is a Lunds & Byerlys within walking distance with a little place to sit and drink coffee for those so inclined. Of course, I bought two 20oz Diet Cokes, an apple, banana, and L&B branded fruit slices. (Have I done a post on my complete adoration of fruit slices, the candy?) So, I have a modicum of normalcy going on here.
I figure another hour or so here, and then I can head back and see who’s awake.
Oh. I don’t actually know the address of our hosts. Does anyone know where Nora is?
What’s your go-to morning routine?
Hey JP, after a couple of days break I was really pleased to see 3 posts all at once (perhaps because of the time difference, it’s all out in one day for me)!
I’m not sure we have anything like those fruit slices over in the U.K, although I don’t have a massive sweet tooth. My downfall is always crisps, pizza and other savoury delights!
My morning routine changes day to day and week to week but the staple is always a cup of coffee to remind my body that’s it’s not time to go back to sleep just yet.
Enjoying the posts, much like the podcasts, it’s a nice little insight into someone else’s life and mind.
Alas, my days of so much pizza are done.
